Appointed as a district court judge by President Reagan
in 1984, Judge Barker served as chief judge of the southern district of Indiana
from 1994 to 2000. She has served on the Judicial Conference of the
United States and several of its committees; as president of the Federal Judges
Association; is active on various civic, museum, religious and educational
boards; and has received numerous awards, citations and honorary degrees.
Myles Brand has been president of the National
Collegiate Athletic Association since January 1, 2003. Dr. Brand was
president from 1994 through 2002 of Indiana University, an eight-campus
institution of higher education. Dr. Brand was previously president of
the University of Oregon in Eugene and has also held faculty and administrative
posts at Ohio State University, the University of Arizona, the University of
Illinois at Chicago, and the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Brater is dean of the Indiana University School of
Medicine and director of IU Medical Center. A professor of medicine and
pharmacology and toxicology, Dr. Brater is active in the American Society for
Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the United States Pharmacopeia, and the
Association of Professors of Medicine. Locally he serves on the boards of
directors of BioCrossroads and the Riley Children's Foundation.
Thomas Chapman is president and CEO of The HSC
Foundation in Washington, DC, the parent corporation for two subsidiaries, The
HSC Pediatric Center and Health Services for Children with Special Needs.
He was previously senior associate vice president for Network Development and
Professor of Health Services Management and Policy at George Washington
University Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Chapman is the current
vice chairman and immediate past chairman of the Clarian board of
directors.
Bishop Coyner was appointed as Bishop of the Indiana
Area United Methodist Church in September 2004. Prior to being assigned
to Indiana, he served eight years as Bishop of the Dakotas Area. Before
his election to the episcopacy in 1996, he served Indiana congregations in
Peru, Peoria, South Bend and Fort Wayne. He served as a district
superintendent in Lafayette and also as executive assistant to Bishop Woodie
White.
Daniel F. Evans, Jr., was appointed president and chief
executive officer of Clarian Health Partners in 2002. Mr. Evans is a past
chairman of the Clarian board of directors, and was active for many years on
the Methodist Hospital board, serving as its chairman just prior to the
consolidation. Prior to becoming Clarian's CEO, Mr. Evans was an attorney
and partner with Baker & Daniels.
Stephen Ferguson is Chairman of the Board of Cook Group
Incorporated in Bloomington, IN, the parent corporation of companies worldwide
involved in manufacture and sale of medical devices. Mr. Ferguson is
currently president of the IU Board of Trustees and serves on the boards of
several state and national organizations. He was a partner in the law firm
of Ferguson, Ferguson and Lloyd from 1966-1990 and remains of-counsel with the
Ferguson and Ferguson firm. He served four terms in the Indiana House of
Representatives from 1967-1974.
Charles Golden retired from Eli Lilly and Company in
2006 as executive vice president and CFO and a member of the board of
directors. He was previously a corporate vice president of General Motors
and chairman of GM’s vehicle operations in the United Kingdom. Mr. Golden
serves on a wide range of boards and panels. Mr. Golden is a past chairman
of the Clarian board of directors.
David Goodrich retired in 2005 as president and CEO of
Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, Inc., a coalition of Central Indiana
CEOs promoting regional growth and opportunity. Mr. Goodrich is chairman
of the IU School of Medicine Dean’s Advisory Council and a member of the
Indiana University Randall L. Tobias Center for Leadership Excellence Board of
Overseers. He served as vice-chairman of the Clarian board and previously
served as chairman of the Methodist Health Group board of directors.
Bill Hunt is chairman of Hunt Capital Partners, LLC, a
venture capital and consulting firm based in Indianapolis. Until August
2001, he was the vice chairman and president of ArvinMeritor Inc., a global
supplier of a broad range of automotive parts and systems. Previously, he
was chairman and CEO of Arvin Industries. Before joining Arvin, Hunt
practiced labor relations law in Indianapolis. Mr. Hunt is the current
chairman of the Clarian board of directors.
Dr. Lingeman is a long-standing member of the Methodist
- now Clarian - medical staff and an internationally recognized leader in
the field of urology. After receiving his medical degree from Indiana
University School of Medicine, he served his internship and residency in
general surgery and urology at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids,
MI. Dr. Lingeman is the long-time chair of the Methodist Institutional
Review Board. He is also chairman of the board of the Methodist Research
Institute and director of the International Kidney Stone Institute.
Dr. McBride is distinguished professor and university
dean emerita at Indiana University School of Nursing. During her tenure as
dean (1991-2003), she also served as senior vice president for academic affairs
- nursing within Clarian Health. Dr. McBride is past president of Sigma Theta
Tau International (the honor society of nursing) and the American Academy of
Nursing. She is the current chair of the National Advisory Committee for
the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Nurse Faculty Scholar Program.
Michael McRobbie became Indiana University President on
July 1, 2007. An Australian native, Dr. McRobbie is also CEO of Pervasive
Technology Laboratories. He joined IU in 1997 as VP for information
technology and chief information officer, assumed responsibilities as VP for
research in 2003, and was appointed interim provost and VP for academic affairs
for IU-Bloomington in 2006. Dr. McRobbie maintains professorships in
several disciplines and currently holds appointments on the Joint Committee of
the Higher Education and Entertainment Communities, Council on Foreign
Relations Higher Education Working Group on Global Issues, and Indiana's
Education Roundtable, among other organizations.
Mr. Robbins joined the board of directors of Methodist
Hospital of Indiana in 1973, and has served on numerous boards and committees
of Methodist Hospital and, subsequently, Clarian Health Partners, ever since,
including the Clarian Health Board. He currently is a director emeritus on that
board. He is active in several positions in the United Methodist Church
and practices law in Frankfort, Indiana.
Mr. Fisher joined the Clarian Health board as a director
emeritus in January 2009 with the Ball/Cardinal/Clarian transaction. He
joined Ball Corporation in 1941 and retired as that corporation's chairman in
1986, where he remains as chairman emeritus. Mr. Fisher served as the
chairman of Ball Memorial Hospital from 1984 to 1996. With the formation
of Cardinal Health System in 1996, Mr. Fisher was elected as its first chairman
and he continues to hold that position today.
