Joints -- the connection between two bones -- are at risk for injury and deterioration. There are many reasons why people have pain in their joints. The good news is that joint pain is treatable. Clarian Human Motion's joint replacement and reconstruction services can help people who suffer from arthritis, sports-related injuries and traumatic accidents.
Gentle stretching and low-impact exercise can help ease joint pain. Clarian Human Motion partnered with the Indiana State Department of Health to produce a booklet titled, "Movement is Medicine," that provides illustrated stretches for every joint. It also has information on exercises people should do on a regular basis, including strength and endurance training. This booklet is free to anyone who requests it. Visit www.acalltochange.org to request this booklet.
While the cause of their pain differs, our patients share an overwhelming desire to regain mobility and strength, and eliminate pain. If you have joint pain, see your doctor to determine a suitable pain remedy. Often times, lifestyle changes and medicines can ease pain and reduce swelling. However, these techniques will not restore your cartilage, tissue or bone. You may need to consider joint replacement surgery if your pain continues and you're unable to move normally. The majority of our patients who undergo joint replacements enjoy 95 to 100 percent pain relief and 80 percent recovery within six weeks. The remainder of their recovery takes place more gradually over six months to a year.
At Clarian Human Motion, we're committed to helping you regain your independence.
