Receiving a diagnosis of cancer can be frightening. Patients need
caring support, as well as the best medical care possible. At Methodist
Hospital, we aggressively treat all forms of cancer.
Our full-service hospital provides radiation therapy, inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy infusion services, and surgical treatments. Private oncologists provide care at Methodist for their patients who have cancer, benefiting from the support and services of a large, tertiary hospital.
In 2008, the Clarian Hematology/Oncology at Methodist office opened and is located on the sixth floor of the main hospital, C-6. The oncology team includes surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, other specialty physicians, nurses and other staff, who work together to provide the best treatment plan and comforting care for each patient.
Methodist's oncology team belongs to the Hoosier Oncology Group (HOG) and the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG), which are research groups that provide our patients with access to clinical trials. Methodist physicians are active in research to improve diagnosis and treatment of various cancers.
Our biannual camp for adult cancer survivors, called Camp Bluebird, provides encouragement and education for survivors. The camp is open to all cancer survivors in Indiana. Approximately 75 people a year attend, supported by the Methodist Health Foundation foundation.
